Written by Ms. Clarke's Grade 3/4 Class for Orange Shirt Day 2025. "We would like to begin by acknowledging that our school, Marie Sharpe Elementary, is on the unceded traditional territory of the Secwépemc people, the Williams Lake First Nation, the T’exelcemc. We are thankful that we get to learn, play, and grow together on this land. On Orange Shirt Day and every day, we remember and honour Survivors of residential schools. We promise to be good ancestors by respecting the land, keeping it healthy, and caring for each other."
